Live Music: Perfect for concerts, weddings, parties, winery events, fundraisers, private events, and more!
Inspired by legends such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, Kathryn Loomis endeavors to tell a story with each song she sings. She conveys the nuanced emotions of vintage love songs with her natural stage presence and seemingly effortless musical intuition.
Loomis's specialty is singing with jazz combos and big bands, including her combo Kathryn Loomis & Company.
Her versatile voice is pure, soft, and warm. Whether singing a melancholy torch song or a cheerful swing tune, Kathryn’s classic approach and experience with the Great American Songbook makes her performances as timeless as the songs she sings.
Rapidly gaining the attention of the Central Coast, Loomis is currently a female vocalist with Starlight Dreamband and The Friendly Neighborhood Big Band.
Loomis is also an accomplished singer-songwriter. She recently recorded and released her debut album of original songs. The album is titled "The Nicest Thing" and was recorded at The Sauce Pot Studios in San Luis Obispo.
Kathryn Loomis & Co.- An Afternoon to Remember, Excerpt:
Kathryn Loomis & Co. is a collection of top-notch musicians that hails from the Central Coast. Kathryn is the leader and vocalist. Kathryn Loomis should be named Kathryn Luminous, because that’s what she was at our Sunday Session on May 29th at the Pismo Beach Veterans' Hall. Her confident and sultry vocals and her understated command of her back up musicians led to an amazing afternoon of jazz standard musical interpretation. This was the first time they graced our stage. Kathryn was classy and elegant in a full-length gown, recalling an earlier era of fashion. Her dress was complemented by an elaborate crystal necklace and her hair swept into a Gibson Girl updo. The band members all wore classic suits. . .
. . . Kathryn Loomis and Co. is an amazingly talented band, a real joy to watch, and great to dance to. Kathryn transports you to a time of long ago, a classy nightclub where you can fall in love. She is professional, charming, graceful, and extremely talented. She can enchant you in English, French, and Spanish. Her voice is confident, sultry, and sexy. She will bewitch you and capture your heart as she pours out one hit after another. After watching her you will be left with only one word, WOW! She will surely be invited back to future Basin Street Regulars Sunday Sessions or an upcoming Jazz Jubilee by the Sea!
The band: Darrell Voss: Drums, Ron McCarley: Saxophones, Becky McClaflin: Piano, Travis Harms: Bass.
